Feel light, clear, and grounded no matter where you land.
Let’s be real: travel can throw your body off fast. Bloat, fatigue, puffiness, mood dips, it’s not just the airport snacks (though, those don’t help). From the stress of packing to the change in time zones to eating meals out 3x a day, your gut has a lot to process.
But travel doesn’t have to mean feeling blah. It just takes a few intentional habits to help your digestion stay calm, your skin stay glowy, and your mind stay clear. Here’s how I do it: no extremes, no overthinking, just real wellness that works.
1. Start With Your Supplements
I keep a separate pouch in my travel bag just for my Sera & Mattina staples because when I take care of my gut, the rest of me falls into place.
-
Glow with Gut (AM) → This starts my day with good digestion, clear skin, and no bloat. It supports my gut lining and gives me that fresh, balanced energy I need when I’m off my usual routine.
-
Rest & Digest (PM) → After heavy dinners or new foods, this is what helps me sleep better and wake up without the food hangover. It supports digestion and calms that “too full” feeling.
-
Daily Chill → I take this when I feel overstimulated, anxious, or when the travel chaos starts to take over. It helps regulate cortisol and makes a huge difference in my mood and digestion.
-
Collagen → I mix it into my morning drink (coffee, tea, smoothie) for gut lining support and that dewy vacation skin. Even after long flights, my skin feels plump and nourished.
2. Hydration Isn’t A Bonus; It’s The Baseline
Dehydration is one of the fastest ways to mess with your digestion. Planes, sun, salty food, cocktails… it all adds up.
What I do:
-
Start each morning with a big glass of water before caffeine or food.
-
Add cucumber, lemon, or mint to hotel water for a mini spa vibe that supports digestion and alkalinity.
-
Coconut water is my go-to if I’ve been flying or sweating a lot, easy electrolytes, gut-friendly, and tastes like vacation.
3. Build Gentle Movement Into Your Day
Movement keeps everything flowing literally. Even if I don’t do a full workout, I move every day on vacation to support digestion, boost my mood, and stay grounded in my body.
Ideas that don’t feel like “working out”:
-
20-minute morning walk with coffee/matcha/ H20
-
Hotel room stretch or yoga flow
-
Swim in the pool or the ocean
-
Dance around while getting ready (yes, it counts)
Even five minutes can help. I just listen to my body and do what feels good.
4. Go Slow With Meals (Your Gut Needs The Memo)
One of the best parts of traveling is the food trying new restaurants, enjoying long dinners, and indulging a little. But when I eat too fast or too much (which is easy to do on vacation), I feel it in my gut fast.
What helps:
-
Chewing slowly (20–30 chews per bite if I’m being mindful)
-
Not eating while standing or scrolling on my phone
-
Starting meals with a few deep breaths to calm the nervous system
It sounds small, but it makes a huge difference in how your body digests.
5. Bring Gut-Happy Snacks With You
When you’re stuck in a car, airport, or random tourist trap with nothing but chips and sugar, these are lifesavers:
-
Chia pudding in a mini jar
-
Almonds or pumpkin seeds
-
Apple slices + almond butter packets
-
Simple bars with whole ingredients
-
Peppermint tea bags for bloating or nausea
-
Ginger chews for digestion on the go
These keep me satisfied and keep my gut from going into panic mode.
6. Build In Moments Of Rest (Yes, Even On Vacation)
Constant stimulation, social plans, flights, and new environments can put your body into overdrive. And your digestion? It slows down when your nervous system is on high alert.
Give yourself permission to:
-
Sleep in without guilt
-
Take a slow morning without rushing to the next thing
-
Say no to a night out if your body’s asking for rest
-
Do a 10-minute meditation or breathwork session
Even when I’m traveling, I check in with myself daily. A quick journal moment or deep breath can do more than a full wellness routine.
Wherever You Go, Take Care of You
Travel is for joy, connection, and newness, and you deserve to feel amazing while you do it. With a few mindful shifts and your Sera & Mattina routine packed and ready, you can support your gut, energy, and glow… without skipping the gelato or the late-night dinner.
Take care of your gut, and it’ll take care of you.
xx
